Aged Care

HomeAged Care

Durability

Durability and low maintenance are considered together as a criterion for product selection in aged care. We provide materials that perform under tough conditions and don’t contribute to the ongoing maintenance schedule of a building. Our HPL and Stratificato compact laminate don’t need constant touching up or repair and often can be used instead of painted surfaces or melamine materials.

Aesthetic

The standard of retirement living in Australia is rising, as the ‘Baby Boomer’ generation starts to retire. There has been a shift away from institutional models of care to master-planned communities, that appeal to a wide range of residents and provide an all-inclusive community that meet the needs of groups from diverse backgrounds. Residential units and rooms are contemporary and luxurious, creating a warm and inviting space with high end products and materials.

Health Requirements

Research shows that residents who are happy in aged care facilities generally enjoy better health, including higher levels of mobility, confidence and motivation. They experience less confusion and anxiety and find it easier to maintain their mental health. Designing safe, familiar and non-threatening spaces require consideration of space, lighting, natural elements, and colour scheme, among others. Spaces should be adaptable between low to high levels of care and have the ability to evolve with future healthcare technologies.
