Feature Project

The feature project this month is the Reading Cinema at Newmarket Village, Brisbane, as part of their recent new development. Surface Squared High Pressure Laminate (HPL) in

421 black HR-LAQ high gloss adds high end drama to the interior ceiling and wall panels.

The Hollywood styled black and gold ceiling immediately captures your attention, illuminated with movie star lighting. The eight screen cinema complex was designed by Entertainment Architects, Melbourne, who connect multiple entertainment spaces including the cinema, candy bar and Gold bar leading onto the terrace taking a trip to the movies to the next level.

At Surface Squared we are always working with our suppliers to bring you the very best and latest materials for your projects. From our SURPLY family we are introducing Silent, an engineered birch plywood with a layer of cork-rubber composite that reduces noise. Silent has the mechanical and physical properties of engineered plywood while delivering on sound insulation. With a range of thicknesses, Silent can reduce noise up to 28 db and used in applications that include flooring, ceilings, walls and furniture.
